saw several birds, already posted this day. It has taken me this long to determine if the hawk I saw was a Cooper's or Sharp-shinned; from my photo, I can now say definitely it was a female sharp-shinned, perched in a thick pine tree infront of my car in the Parking lot. After a few seconds it pounced on a small bird and carried it into the trees surrounding the bay. trees obscured it in flight. my first hake sighting.
