Title: high Park, Grenadier Pond, April 29
Post by: Greenleaf80 on April 30, 2012, 07:20:23 AM
Spotted one pied- bill grebe on Ellis Avenue side of pond, around 9:00. It was far away, but the black stripe on the bill was clear.

hi folks! there are at least 2 p.b. grebes, and my money's on 3 of them, all hanging around grenadier pond. sometimes they get closer than other times...lovely little friends are they...

so nice to have confirmation of something that was so far away.  I am also a photographer and got my best shots ever of the wood ducks that day.  Unfortunately they are quite tame now; everyone is feeding them peanuts.

yes, they'll practically sit in your lap. crazy ducks will eat just about anything. always remember: they're classic examples of fair-weather friends!
