Title: Maplewood Park and Lake Aquitaine
Post by: Bird Brain on May 10, 2012, 01:00:30 PM
Hi everyone.  This morning from 7:30-8:30am at Maplewood Park (East side of Glen Erin Dr., just North of Aquitaine Ave.):

Blue Jays x 2

Cooper's Hawk x 2 - female sitting quietly in nest.  Male appeared from the South edge of woods with a branch, seemed to be repairing the edge and side of nest, then he took off back to the woods.

Robin - female sitting on nest.

Trillium flowers everywhere and very wet, muddy woods.  Areas that are normally fairly dry look like small ponds today!

Today from 8:30am-9:30am, Lake Aquitaine (SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Aquitaine Ave., behind the Meadowvale Community Centre):

Blue Jays x 4
Canada Geese x 6 - mom, dad and 4 goslings
Cardinals x 2 (1m, 1f)
Goldfinches x 2 (1m, 1f)
Grackles
House Sparrows
Mallards x 10 (2f, 8m)
Mourning Doves
Red-winged Blackbirds
Robins
Ruby-crowned Kinglet x 1 (male)
Starlings
