Title: Rosetta McClain Gardens, Scarborough (May 12th)
Post by: Bluffs Birder on May 12, 2012, 07:38:25 PM
To help celebrate 'International Migratory Bird Day', BIGFRANK, myself and several other birders gathered at the park early this morning to see what we could find.  In all, 53 species were observed including 13 different Warblers.

Some of the day's highlights were:

Iceland Gull
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Eastern Wood-Pewee
Least Flycatcher
Red-eyed Vireo
Veery
Ovenbird
Black-and-white Warbler
Tennessee Warbler
American Redstart
Northern Parula
Scarlet Tanager
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Baltimore Oriole

Out over the bluffs, Frank and I watched as an American Kestrel quite easily picked-off a Bank Swallow and carried it away to have for a mid-day snack.
