Just in the base lands of the spit I saw 55 species, including 15 species of warbler (cape may, blackburnian, northern parula, bay-breasted, magnolia, black-throated blue and green,common yellowthroat, yellow-rumped, nashville, chestnut-sided, palm, american redstart, black-and-white and yellow.) Also saw 3 scarlet tanagers, an eastern wood-pewee, a least flycatcher, red-eyed, philadelphia and warbling vireo. A few other sightings include swainson's thrush, eastern kingbird, rose-breasted grosbeak, killdeer and sharp-shinned hawk.
