Some of you may recall a post of mine from a little while back regarding an issue with the House Sparrows vs. the Chickadees. Of course I was in the Chickadees' corner and with some work, I am happy to announce that we have a hatch in "the outhouse".
Lots of little peeping and squeaking coming from inside and the parents are working hard bringing in lots of little tiny green worms.
No noise coming from the new House Sparrow home but that pair is still working away in there often, bringing more nesting material in.
Dad bringing dinner in while mom waits to grab it at the door...

Wow. Thanks for sharing. Also, I had a good laugh when I read your house sparrow versus chickadee story at an earlier post. mike

That is impressive!!! Keep us posted on the chickadee family.

Now I know why they always take at least two sunflower seeds when they come to my hand - they're practicing for stuffing their young! :)

Congratulations! You worked so hard to save the Chickadee family! Great photos too.

Indeed the fact there was quite a bit of work to help these guys out and its paid off in the end. I only hope I am home and get to witness the day they all fledge.
And now their competitors, the pair of House Sparrows, have a hatch. Just started hearing crying babies in their nest box this afternoon.

Amazing that I posted this on May 19th and on May 30th the little ones all left the nest box. It was a very exciting time for them, and me to witness it all! I blogged about it here... http://robandtheanimals.blogspot.ca/201 ... -baby.html (http://robandtheanimals.blogspot.ca/2012/05/bye-bye-baby.html)
