Title: Lake Aquitaine - young goslings and gull eating a Sunfish
Post by: Bird Brain on May 31, 2012, 12:59:00 PM
Hi everyone.  This morning, I was walking around Lake Aquitaine from about 9:00-10:30am.  Pretty much sighted the "usual" except for 4 young goslings, perhaps around 5 days old?  Very small and still lots of yellow.  They were next to the original 4 goslings, now quite large and brown.  A Ring-billed Gull joined them by Exercise Machine #6 and was eating a Sunfish.

Lake Aquitaine:  SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Aquitaine Ave., behind the Meadowvale Community Centre.

After this, it was off to Maplewood Park from about 10:30-11:30am.  Fairly quiet except for one male Cardinal.  I placed a shelled peanut on a tree stump, heard a loud "Chip!", turned to see him swoop down, snatch up the peanut and fly away with it.
Lots of Robins as well.

Maplewood Park:  East side of Glen Erin Dr., just North of Aquitaine Ave.
