Title: Any help ID'ing this Dragonfly?
Post by: Rob'in'To on June 10, 2012, 09:07:01 AM
It's that time of year again, when there are other cool things with wings to observe and occasionally photograph.   :D

I got a Dragonfly book now but this one stumps me even with the references...  any help?  Thanks in advance!

Nice shot!
It's a Widow Skimmer, I'd say a female rather than immature male.
What guide do you have?

Thanks John. I was about to make a post of this one and ask the same question.

Guessing they are the same?

Those are four-spotted skimmers.

I love the way the wing colour is projected on to the blade of grass on the last one.   Nice shots!
