Title: Point Pelee and Pelee Island
Post by: rcflier on June 12, 2012, 01:07:38 PM
Getting married this Saturday. For our "honeymoon" we decided to go to Pelee for a "recon" mission for future possible birding trips.

Next week we will be spending 3 days at Point Pelee then 3 days on the island.  Going mostly for walking fun but hoping there may still be some good nature stuff to see.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Congrats and best wishes to both of you! I'll be at Pelee Island on Tuesday as part of a 3 day seniors trip to the Windsor Casino. We were there last year about the same time - pretty quiet birdwise but the restaurant we stopped at for lunch had nice gardens complete with several 'puddling' tiger swallowtails. I also walked to the lighthouse but it's not for everybody (the walk that is if the wind is blowing towards the beach and the water is high!).

Hello,

Anyone know a good area to search for Pileated Woodpeckers in Southern Ontario?
