Title: Hooded and Prothonotary warblers
Post by: Whittam on June 15, 2012, 07:07:20 AM
Last wed, we heard and saw both a Hooded warbler and a Prothonotary warbler within 50m of each other on the north trail in the Backus woods on conc 4 north of Port rowan.  Quite a sight!
Here is a shot of the Prothonotary eating a caterpillar.

The hooded was really elusive, always behind a leaf or 2.  Photo is good enough for ID purposes.

Good birding,

Very nice find!
How is the mosquito situation there, by the way?

Excellent if that's what you enjoy, I don't!  Actually, the road was fine but the trail was lousy with them.

Great shots Terry.  Another successful mission!
