Title: Common Nighthawk
Post by: Brian Bailey on June 16, 2012, 09:27:35 PM
Anyone hoping to find Common Nighthawk should  check New Toronto or Long Branch (south Etobicoke).   I have seen and heard them in various  places near Lake Shore  Blvd within several blocks of Kipling.   The Humber College parking lot is a good spot because it affords a wide view.   I usually start  hearing them just  before dusk, but today I heard my first one at 5:30.

I have  still only seen single birds.  I had been wondering if there were more.   I don't know if there are, but there were.   I found a dead one at the side of 23rd Street yesterday and there was still another flying overhead.
