Title: Fresh Red Admiral, White Admiral, Orange Bluet
Post by: Reuven_M on June 20, 2012, 06:21:19 PM
Only braved the heat for about 45 minutes this morning in Erindale Park, but did have a few notable sightings:

1 White Admiral among 2 Red-spotted Purples, never seen one this far south before
My first fresh red admiral of the new generation - a stark contrast to the ratty faded ones from the original invasion.
1 Orange Bluet among various other common odes (Fragile Forktail, Eastern Forktail, Familiar Bluet, Ebony Jewelwing, Green Darner, Common Whitetail, Twelve-spotted Skipper, Dot-tailed Whiteface)

I posted a pic of a white admiral from avenue rd and wilson. From your post it sounds a bit unusual. Is that right?
