I was at the pond today and the virginia rails were out. There are 4 chicks. I managed to capture 2 of them. The adult ran across in front of me about 3 feet from my feet. They are quick runners.

Thanks for your response Craig, that is the pond. The water level has dropped and it's great for the shorebirds to walk on.
