This odd ball Pigeon showed up, or rather, we took notice of him over the weekend. Perhaps it's the other way around with him taking notice to us? He has his flock, he seems to be the dominant one in the group, and his pals give him the strangest looks as they watch him mingle with us.
I figure someone had a huge influence on his life early on or something? He's a very healthy bird and does have his "wild" in him because I tried to pick him up and that wasn't happening.
Saturday morning coffee...

He joined our little afternoon party. Great photo op here! And please note that is bird seed in the cup.

that's hilarious.
if only they weren't flying rats....

I'm speechless, well almost (Howie's never speechless, sometimes to his detriment...). Anyway Rob, at least you know where you are in the pecking order! :)

How cool is that!!
I wonder if he was a homing pigeon or something. Or whatever they are called nowadays. People still use them a lot in the city. For races and things.
Used to people, seems to be almost hand raised.
Just a thought.
These guys are normally scared of people because allmost of us ever do is scare them away.
Fun times for sure.

He's an amusing addition to the backyard adventures but a little annoying as he gets more comfortable. Jumping on my back and shoulder when I am cleaning the bird bath or doing macro shots... startling and not cool. He tried to sit on my lens on day. Bad birdy!

Tell him you have a recipe for Rock Dove pudding, after all, he IS bigger than a cornish hen! I've tried that with my sometimes very brazen chickadees but they know I must be kidding 'cause there's not much left when you clean...anyway it looks like you guys are really good hosts! :)
Btw, I still enjoy watching the video, can you get Angie to take a video of RD 'molesting' you?

I admire his fortitude....that hard lemonade gives me heartburn something fierce after only one bottle. And the pigeon had how many ?
See if you can get a picture of him smoking a stogie.
-
LOL! he looks like a party-dove
-
Haha! You guys are funny! Always nice to see some good senses of humor here.
-
Maybe he's a party-rock-dove ?
