Hi everyone. I was wandering around Maplewood Park today from 11am - 12 noon and sighted the following:
Blue Jays x 2 - 2nd one imitating a Cooper's Hawk. Nearby squirrels weren't moving an inch and Blue Jay swooped in for shelled peanuts.
Cardinals x 2 - 1 adult male and 1 juv.
Downy Woodpeckers x 2 (very small females)
House Sparrows - dozens
Lots of Cabbage White butterflies.
Heard a high pitch squeak, looked around, discovered 2 mating squirrels - these critters have no shame! Get a room.
Maplewood Park: East side of Glen Erin Dr., just North of Aquitaine Ave.
