Title: Baby Grebes This morning
Post by: Irene on August 19, 2012, 09:47:20 AM
Spent a little time this morning with the Grebes at CSS
here is one of the shots before the lighting started to change
These are the most beautiful little birds I have ever seen and the parents are really really good, they are really taking good care of the babies, there is still one egg on the nest
also, there was a mink "sniffin" around this morning as well grrrr he better stay away from the babies!!!!

very nice.
i have to edit my pictures that i took yesterday. lighting makes it REALLY difficult to take pictures before the afternoon.
they were lots of fun to watch. grebes are my favourite waterfowl and then you put a baby on its back? YES!

Nice shot Irene!  Angie and I were there yesterday for a short bit and it was a pleasure to see the little ones.

I was also happy it wasn't the platform I saw the shenanigans at earlier in the summer.  I thought it was the eastern platform where the rocks and little "islands" are near for people to attempt to hop and jump on.

Beautiful Irene. You got both of the babies in the shot...added bonus!!
So I gather the afternoon is the best time to head down there? Is that when the light is behind you?
There is nothing worse than shooting into the sun, but you made it work here.
Great job.
