Post by: American Redstart on August 23, 2012, 08:38:17 PM
Today at Rattray Marsh the shorebirds I saw were 24 least sandpipers, 2 sanderlings, 1 greater yellowlegs and 15 killdeers.

I visited this afternoon and found fewer individuals but was able to add Spotted to the list.  No sign the Buff-breasted reported yesterday.

The Green Heron with the broken leg is still there and seemingly doing well.  One day I'll get all four heron species there:  today it was Great Egret that eluded me.

My Sora streak is over   Oh well, I was pretty happy with two in a row!

Checked on the injured green heron - seems to be doing well - limping along but feeding itself well enough.  Also saw three killdeer, a solitary and two least sandpipers.
