Title: Virgina Rail
Post by: Brian Bailey on August 26, 2012, 09:53:56 PM
Okay, this could have been in Ontario, but it was actually in Scarborough Marsh in Maine.  No stake-out required here:  this guy (or gal) was walking and running around in the open calling to another hidden in the grass.  He was so close to the trail that I couldn't get a clear view.  A few minutes later a local novice birder came along and the bird came out again giving him a lifer.  It would be hard to find a more cooperative rail!
