First saw-whet owl of this season. It had its (headless) lunch in its tallons. guessing it was a mouse?

Boy!.. Richard you have alot to learn....that isn't lunch but one of those Fall wardrobe Owl talon Warmer's...the latest thing in owl fashion access for those cold winter nights..... :D

Adult mice usually are eaten in pieces in two different meals. Neat capture.

i spent 5 minutes of zen watching him, then moved on.

I know how you feel...I first stopped at Halls road on Sat and saw the Barred owl but with the regular crowds surrounding it....it somehow took away from the Zen feeling.... I than went to another area and came upon a 2nd barred all by itself ...just me and the owl... a real soul searching event
Imagine the winter is just starting...seems to me there are alot more than other years...maybe a great winter for Jan -Feb

the snowies are probably going to be in toronto within the next 1-2 weeks.
will be interesting to see what we have in the GTA - barred, snowies, some saw-whets....a few boreal? any LEOs?
yeah, looks like it will be fun. maybe next year = great grey owls!?!
