We have had a lone male White-Winged Crossbill at our sunflower feeder for the past couple days. I didn't even realize till now that they would come to the feeder. What a wonderful visitor he is. Hope he stays a while.
A few years back we briefly had a flock in the backyard eating the seed on the spruce but they are bare this year

Based on our beat guess identifying using our bird book We have a small flock of males and females at our sunflower chip feeder as well since just before Christmas. They seem quite territorial of the feeder and have been quite effective keeping the other birds at bay when they are there. Very pretty birds to watch. We are in Cobourg.
