If Swan sightings is your preference and you live in the Scarborough area the wintering Swans Both Mute and Trumpeter have returned in good numbers and offer great close-up photographs as well as some good in flight, fighting pictures between the Trumpeters and Mutes. Good take-off and landings are available here too. As well Buffleheads, Mallards, Canada Geese, Longtails, Mergansers, Common Goldeneyes, are seen in the inner lagoon. I've also seen Ring-necked, Redheads, Gadwells, & American Black Ducks. Just a short drive South on Brimley Road off of Kingston Road right to the bottom

You were very lucky that day.
I was there today.
Dozens of Gulls
4 mutes
Dozens of Mallards
Quite a few Canada Goose - one with that outlandish band around the neck.
Nothing else except many homo sapiens. :)
Juvi hawk - nowhere to be seen.
Oh there is - a big yacht was being dragged ashore. Fully gutted in a fire. Name of the yacht "Final Purchase". LOL
No one was injured according to one guy who showed me a shot of the thing fully ablaze.
