This is at Toogood pond in Markham
I'm fairly certain these are American Black Ducks but please correct me if I'm wrong. Also please confirm if I'm right so I can sleep well at night

Here's what I think is a ABD and Mallard hybrid hanging out with his Canada Goose buddy:

The two middle shots are black duck, while not completely sure about first one as a bit of white is showning on wing with purple, this is a big sign for pure black ducks, Black ducks will have only back & purple flash on the wings while mallards and hybrids have white , purple & black, as other features as to size and bill colour look to be Black ducks. The last picture is not a black / mallard mix, most likely a mix of alot....what ever a mallard breed with come out like a mallards, with white front bib and colouring, has alot more of a domestic duck features ...which is probably it race...domestic duck/ mallard

1. I don't think the tiny white stripe outside of the black border matters. It looks good for an Am. Black Duck.
2. Am. Black Duck
3. The left bird is coloured overall like a male Am. Black Duck, but the bill is orange/dark like a female Mallard and the speculum is more bluish than purple. Suspect it could be a hybrid, but it's odd with the male and female features. The right bird is a female Am. Black Duck.
4. I don't see anything domestic in this hybrid (the white on the front is just snow I think). The head pattern is common for Mallard hybrids of different kinds and the body looks fairly Mallard-like overall.
