Title: Great Horned Owl in Charles Sauriol Park
Post by: Rotarran on January 27, 2013, 06:53:18 PM
Talked to a local dog-walker in the park yesterday and she said that every afternoon around 5 or so, she hears an owl.  I went there today to check it out.  And indeed I not only heard it but also took a few pictures.  They didn't come out very good unfortunately as the terrain is difficult to traverse and the shots had to be taken from far away with poor lighting.

I guess I'll post the pics but I hope I don't offend you guys with the poor quality.  I'll go back and try to get better ones.

I also saw a Blue Jay which escaped photography.

I like the Charles Sauriol Park myself but have not heard an owl there - will walk my dog closer to 5 this week - thanks for the tip - which end of the park did you see it?  Thanks!

Use the Wigmore Park entrance wedged between Pitcairn Crescent and Elvaston Drive.  It might be far for you if you live on the other side of the park.  But if you ever get to explore it, it is worth it.
