Title: Sighted two Pileated Woodpeckers in Algonquin Park
Post by: greyowl51 on January 30, 2013, 10:51:52 AM
This past weekend my wife, Jean, and I were X-skiing in Algonquin Park and we sighted two Pileated Woodpeckers on the Fen Lake trail at the 11km mark.  Sighting was at around 11:30am.  The two woodpeckers were working together on the same tree, we believe they were both females.  We filmed a video which gives you some idea of what they were up to, perhaps they were working on a nest for the spring?  video at  http://frametoframe.ca/photo-essay-pile ... quin-park/ (http://frametoframe.ca/photo-essay-pileated-woodpeckers-sighted-algonquin-park/)
