Title: turkey vulture - Hwy 427 & 401
Post by: peter monahan on January 30, 2013, 08:08:17 PM
About 5:30 this evening [Thursday Jan. 30] I spotted what I'm fairly sure was a turkey flying south west over Hwy 427 north of the airport.  Obviously I didn't have a chance to stop but the size, colour and dihedral on the wing seemed diagnostic.

Last year I saw my first TV of the year February 21, so this seems  a not impossible sighting.  Comments / refutations welcome.  :D

There have been reports of Turkey Vultures during the winter, mainly in Niagara region and along Lake Erie, but with the the mild weather and wind today it doesn't seem unlikely here.
