Title: Downsview Today - The Sequel
Post by: Palo on February 01, 2013, 09:40:07 PM
I wish we had sat in the car like cosmo3667, because it was so windy and cold, we could hardly hold the cameras still. But we braved it and here are a few shots of the two American Kestrels we came across.  The Hawks were too far for my lens, but my wife was able to pull them in with hers. I'll post some of her shots later. Enjoy.

Kestrel No.1

Kestrel No.2  The one that hangs out next to the parking lot by the green house.

If you look closely at the last photo, you may be able to see the face of Bruce Springsteen right behind the Kestrel's eye. ;)

Thx for looking.

Those are great shots.  I gotta get better Kestrel pics myself...the ones I took were with poor lighting and from a huge distance.  Nice job!

love the colors of a Kestral on a sunny Day. To clarify I was just in my car when the Hawk flew by otherwise I was out in the -16 windchill looking for birds

Thx Rotarren.  Downsview seems to be a great place to catch them.  I've read that there's always one hanging around the green house and he/she seems to be comfortable with people close by.

They are very beautiful and to think that I only saw my first one just two weeks ago.

Yes, I know you were out there cosmo, I was just teasing because I really like your Hawks shots and the fact that they came to you. ;)  We tried to get close enough to get a decent shot, instead we got to exercise.
