Title: Brown thrasher

There has been a Brown Thrasher over-wintering at the University of Guelph Arboretum.  He has found a nice spot in amongst some vines and berries along a wall right at the Arboretum Center.  He can be seen most days, so if you are in the vicinity there is a good chance you will be able to find him.

Nice shots!  Something about them berries in the winter for photos. And a cool bird too.  Nice to know he's surviving the winter here.

Nice! Are there still Bohemian Waxwings at the arboretum?

I haven't seen any waxwings at the arboretum recently, but I live about 2 km south of the university and today we had a flock of 200 waxwings, mixed bohemian and cedar, in our backyard.  So they are definitely still about.  

Thanks Rob ... we were a bit worried about the Thrasher over this cold spell, but he seems to be doing quite well.  He's also become fairly tame, and not at all bothered by the traffic in and out of the arboretum center, which is sometimes quite heavily used for conferences, luncheons, meetings, etc.
