Title: Snowy, W. Grebe, Coots, Harlequin @ Col. S. Smith
Post by: nana on March 03, 2013, 05:14:03 PM
The beautiful Western Grebe was still fishing, preening, snoozing and dazzling a multitude of photographers and bird lovers at 4:30, very close to shore.
A juvinile male Snowy Owl was near the docks. The juvinile male Harlequin was in the East bay with Buffleheads very actively diving.
Four American Coot were close to the Western Grebe as were young Goldeneye. And up to 8 Robins were telling us Spring is nigh, in spite
of the snow flurries coming down. The footing on the main paths is fine. The side trails are still icy.
