Post by: birddog on March 11, 2013, 10:00:47 PM
On my bike ride along Lakeshore and Don River today,I spotted among others a  Kingfisher sitting on a fence at Ashbridges Bay and a small group of Black Crowned Night Herons on the Don River just north of the Queen Street bridge.

I went by today to see the Black Crowned Night Herons just north of the Queen Street bridge. I counted 12, 7 adults and 5 juveniles hidden amongst the trees. There were 2 adults in the trees on the west shore and the rest amongst a set of 4 trees on the east shore of the river. Kind of an exciting day since it was my first time seeing these birds, and we kept finding more and more camouflaged amongst the trees.
