Title: Ring-necked Ducks @ Ashbridges Bay
Post by: Trillian Flummox on March 19, 2013, 05:38:55 PM
Today I was able to locate the 3 Ring-necked Ducks in the marina at Ashbridges Bay that have previously been reported on ebird. There were 2 easily identifiable males and 1 female. I kept thinking there was probably another female but I couldn't find her. There was also an immature male that could be a Ring-necked but I just couldn't be sure - he was very scruffy.

There's still a nice mixed group lingering in the marina: Redheads, Widgeon, Greater & Lesser Scaup, Goldeneye, Bufflehead, Gadwall, Coots and Long-tails. I didn't walk far enough to look for the Redpolls that are usually on the western tip.
