Nesting season is underway in Cayuga!
-
A welcome visitor to our tree!
-
Very nice. How far are you from the River? Is that the Grand River there?
-
Yes, that's the Mighty Grand! The nest is across the river from me, about a kilometre away. I have a tripod and a camera trained on the nest. Last year this breeding pair fledged three lovely chicks - let's hope they're as successful this year.

This is good news to see. Lucky you to be so close to keep an eye on the activity.
I read on the net that a Bald Eagle nest was "removed" in the Cayuga area in January because " it was too near to a wind turbine. "
-
Yes, there was one out near Fisherville that apparently had to come down. I have mixed feelings about that. Wind turbines are being built with no possibility of county involvement. While I'm not happy that they had to take one down, I'm glad they did it before nesting season started so that the breeding pair could start scouting out a new location... :/

Definitely sitting on some eggs.
