In anticipation of the busy Spring season, I'm thinking about how often I head out birding with an empty minivan! While I often enjoy the peacefulness of solo birding, having one or more extra sets of eyes and ears can be great too. During the week I have some flexibility between 9 and 3 pm while my kids are in school. Weekday outings for me are usually limited to a couple of hours, three max. On weekends I will sometimes try to catch the sunrise and stay out until lunchtime. I don't have the time to go out everyday and sometimes it's a very last minute decision, but when the forecast is good I like to try. I live in Riverdale and could easily pick someone up on the Danforth subway line. My favourite local spots are the Leslie Spit Wet Woods and Ashbridges Bay, but I will occasionally go to Sam's, Humber Bay, or High Park when I have enough time. If you think the idea might work for you, send me a PM.
Good Birding!

you know me. i'm north of pape and broadview stns. but you sleep in too much for me.
i may have time on my hands for the 1st two weeks in May (assuming that we'll actually have migrants by then). i'll be in the wet woods, though, at 7:30 AM.

Yeah I'm still feeding the kids breakfast and packing lunches at 7:30 am. Thanks anyway!

Thanks for sharing Kris. We do get requests sometimes from birders without cars looking for a ride. I like this initiative! I'm all for sustainable birding.
