cool....have not been thinking about butterflies yet, last year with the warm weather, we had so many early sightings. This year, I suspect will not be the same.
-
I had 2 mourning cloaks yesterday in Erindale Park.
-
Butterfly hunters take your marks! Sunny breaks and warmer temperatures look probable for this afternoon. :)
-
Good prediction! I had my first Mourning Cloak in my backyard just now.

Same this year, just some days later.

I think this is an Eastern Comma (let me know if I'm wrong), at Riverdale Farm today. My first butterfly of the year!

Finally saw my first butterfly of the year, a mourning cloak in Earl Bales Park. Later on a half hour visit to Bestview Park was rewarded with 3 mourning cloaks and at least 5 (and probably more!) eastern commas.
