7 painted turtles were basking at the east end of the pond at Humber Bay East this afternoon. These are the first turtles I've seen this year.

I saw three painted turtles at Col. Sam Smith today in the pond. One big one and two smaller ones.

Found a smallish snapper crossing my road...thought I'd b a Good Samaritan and gingerly lift him from rear of shell and carry across the road....I couldn't believe the reach it had with neck...narrowly missed making a meal of my hand...and he kept turning to face off with me...making it difficult to get behind it...so finally I just left.
