Any thoughts about this lens.  I'd like to upgrade, but of course, budget is an issue.

Nikon F2.8 80-200mm ED is an excellent lens.  It is excellent for portorait, landscape, nature etc. but of limited use of bird photography due to the short focal length.  For nature macro, I like Nikon 105mm F2.8.  In general, the F2.8 ED len is a luxury for demanding photographers.  One may consider the 24-120mm combination for wide to medium range or the very useful 80-400 mm VR len as a nature main stay.
