Title: Help wanted for a Bird Count at Downsview Park
Post by: Flyingbass on April 18, 2013, 04:05:15 PM
Hello Everyone,

My name is Jonny (Flyingbass),  I work in Downsview Park running school and community education programs.  On Sunday April 28th we'll be running a community education program that will have a bird focus.  We'll be conducting a count of Downsview Park's bird populations and uploading our results to ebird (http://ebird.org/content/ebird/about (http://ebird.org/content/ebird/about)) so that it can be used by scientist all over the world.  Here is a link that has more information on this program, http://bit.ly/X6l7yN (http://bit.ly/X6l7yN).

I was hoping that some people from this wonderful community could help Downsview Park by sharing their incredible bird knowledge.  If you want to come out to the park and share your knowledge you would be partnered with a Downsview Park Staff member.  Our staff would be responsible for leading the group around the park and directing people, you (if you're interested) would help us out by counting (and pointing out) any birds you see or hear.  As many of you know Downsview Park is a fantastic place to bird, this program will be an opportunity to give back and share your joy of birding with a new wave of potential birders!

Let me know if you are interested or if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Jonny (Flyingbass)
