Title: Pile of snail shells
Post by: cbrugman on April 21, 2013, 05:25:39 PM
I was in Tommy Thompson wet woods today and came across a bunch of snail shells scattered in a fairly confined area.

It made me wonder if there was a bird out there that will perch and eat snails leaving the shells behind in this way.

Any thoughts?

Many types of birds especially water birds like geese and gulls. Some snakes eat snails, and raccoons ike a meal of snails from time to time.
