Post by: Bird Brain on April 26, 2013, 02:47:40 PM
Hi everyone.  I was wandering around Maplewood Park this morning from 9:15 - 10:45am.  Wow, lots of calling, chirping, hammering, kekking and singing going on!  Sighted the following:

Blue Jays
Cardinals
Cooper's Hawk (female kekking up a storm)
Downy Woodpecker
House Sparrows
Northern Flicker
Red-breasted Nuthatches
Red-winged Blackbirds
Ruby-crowned Kinglets
Robins
Song Sparrows

Maplewood Park:  East side of Glen Erin Dr., just North of Aquitaine Ave.

Have the Coopers hawks indicated a nesting spot yet Bird Brain?  My local Coopers here have just started incubating.

Hi ostrich.  Not yet.  Sighted the female a few weeks ago then the male a few days later then nothing until yesterday with seeing the female.  I haven't seen both in the woods at the same time yet so no mating or nesting going on.  Hopefully soon!

I wonder if anything is happening at Riverwood yet?  Will be there tomorrow taking a look around.
