Title: European Goldfinch @ Ashbridges Bay
Post by: Rotarran on April 28, 2013, 03:22:53 PM
Saw a European Goldfinch at Ashbridges Bay earlier today.  I realize it's very likely an escapee but still a cool sighting.  He was by the marina following a couple of American Goldfinches around.  I'll post pics later.

Hi Rotarren,

Terry Whittam, Betty McCulloch and I saw a European Goldfinch on April 22nd on the west side of the Wet Woods at the Spit on April 22nd.   It was interacting with a couple of American Goldfinch but sat briefly for a couple of photos before racing off to another tree.  Likely the same bird but who knows for sure.  Excellent shot you got.

Walter :)

Ah very interesting information.  Good to know and yeah considering I only got 2 shots off, I'm happy with the one above.
