At Sam Smith today around 6:30pm, I spotted a Red Eared Slider...when I zoomed in, I also noticed the Green Heron right beside him. I was amazed that I didn't notice the Heron sooner...I guess he kinda blended into the background a bit and I was so focused on the Turtle, I did not see anything else haha. I apologize the photos aren't better but they were taken at quite a distance and before I could get closer, both animals decided to go their separate ways. Still in terms of content quite possibly my best 2 in 1 photo yet :D

Nice catch!
The turtle is a Red-eared Slider, a non-native species. Most likely it was bought from a pet store and then released into the wild when it got too big.

Excellent find and great combo shots! I was down there today, but no GH. Thanks for sharing!

That GH looks cool. They have a similar shape to the night heron. Seem stumpy next to a GBH or great egret. Thanks for sharing.
