Title: Maplewood Park and Birding With Bob (rcflier)
Post by: Bird Brain on May 02, 2013, 11:09:32 AM
Hi everyone.  I was wandering around Maplewood Park this morning from 8-9am, just about to head home then bumped into my friend Bob (rcflier) so we walked around until 10am'ish.  Sighted the following:

Black-throated Blue Warblers x 2 (males)

Blue Jays x 8
Cardinals x 4 (2m, 2f)
Downy Woodpeckers x 2 (1m, 1f)
Goldfinches (males and females)
Grackles x 2
House Sparrows - lots
Red-breasted Nuthatches
Robins

Rose-breasted Grosbeak x 1 (male) - singing up a storm, sounds similar to an American Robin or Baltimore Oriole.

Song Sparrows
Starlings

Turkey Vulture - circling above the park.

White-throated Sparrows

Maplewood Park:  East side of Glen Erin Dr., just North of Aquitaine Ave.

Friday update:  lots of Trilliums making an appearance in the woods - beautiful flowers!  At the moment, dozens - very soon, hundreds!  :)
