Title: Maplewood Park - male Cooper's Hawk
Post by: Bird Brain on May 04, 2013, 04:59:13 PM
Hi everyone.  I was walking around Maplewood Park today from about 12:45 - 3:15pm and bumped into "anatum".

First sighted by "anatum" - male Cooper's Hawk x 1.  He stuck around for awhile, perched high up on tree branch at NW edge of woods then flew away heading West across Glen Erin Dr. then North.  So far, no mating or nesting happening this year.

A very active Red-breasted Nuthatch kept zipping back and forth past us!

Downy Woodpecker - could hear but not sighted.

Other:  Butterflies - Cabbage White x 2, Mourning Cloak x 7

Maplewood Park:  East side of Glen Erin Dr., just North of Aquitaine Ave.
