Nice Richard!!
It's amazing the pattern on his breast matches the bark of the branch.
You must have been quite patient to wait till he was out in the open like this.

To bad about missing the birds to come, but wasn't it you who planned a vacation at this time of year?
The Hummingbirds will be waiting in your backyard for your return.

didn't even notice the breast/bark thing. man, you're smart and stuff! same with the thrushes, i guess.

this is the 2nd time i've seen an ovenbird (last year at ashbridges as well). it kept in the wooded area and i was trying to peak around corners to see him. ALMOST got a shot of him calling (go listen to his call online). thank dog for Lightroom. i was able to get a poorly-lit picture to look semi-salvagable.
