Willet
This afternoon at 5pm I had a Willet on the beach at Darlington Provincial
Park. It was flushed at 5:40 by people on the beach and flew towards the
Second Marsh.
Common Raven
The was bird flying east along the shoreline just after 6pm.
Other sightings
1 Immature Little Gull
Vireos: Red-eyed, Warbling, Blue-headed and Philadelphia
Warblers: Common Yellowthroat, Yellow, Yellow-rumped, Magnolia,
Chestnut-sided, Wilson's, and Nashville warbler
Waterfowl: In lake Common Goldeneye, Bufflehead, Lesser Scaup and
White-winged Scoter, In marsh American Wigeon, Ring-necked Duck, Black Duck,
and Both teal
Several Indigo Buntings, Orchard Orioles, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, and Marsh
Wrens
With all the rain the mudflats in Jim's Pond are covered.
Directions
Exit from the 401 at the Harmony Rd. Exit(419) in Oshawa. Go south on
Farewell St. Colonel Sam Drive. Turn East onto Colonel Sam Drive and follow
to the parking lot at the GM Headquarters. Park in the west parking lot
close to the marsh. The east (GM) platform is visible from the NW corner of
the lot.

Birding was slow this morning. Best birds were least Bittern (se corner of 2nd marsh), Blackpoll Warbler (cool hollow) and a Golden-winged Warbler (in shrubs between parking lot and GM platform)
