Title: Maplewood Park - male and female Cooper's Hawks in woods
Post by: Bird Brain on May 15, 2013, 03:15:10 PM
Hi everyone.  I was walking around Maplewood Park this afternoon from 1:15-2:15pm and sighted the following:

Brown-headed Cowbird x 1 (male)
Cardinals x 3 (males) - very large and bright red

Cooper's Hawks x 2 - 1m, 1f - female in SE woods calling to the male in middle woods - male calling back to her.  Finally both at Maplewood Park on the same day!  Hopefully now some mating and nesting will be happening!

House Sparrows - lots
Chickadees
Red-winged Blackbirds
Robins
Starlings

Other:  Cabbage White butterfly x 1

Maplewood Park:  East side of Glen Erin Dr., just North of Aquitaine Ave.
