Title: Northern Cardinal with conjunctivitis?
Post by: torontobirds on May 27, 2013, 10:27:17 PM
I have a male cardinal that visits my yard and is now blind in one eye.  The eye appears to have a black scab covering the entire eye.  So far the other eye looks okay.   Is there any help out there for this bird?

Saw the same on the Albino Robin.

if it visits your feeder make sure you clean throughly the feeder on a regular basis to avoid it spreading to others. If severals have it then you would need to take down the feeder(s)for a least a week for them to disperse. Basically it can survive but we can't do much else on our end.
