Title: Sam Smith - May 29
Post by: thouc on May 29, 2013, 11:25:25 AM
I caught some of the late migration this morning at Sam Smith. There were a few migrant passerines around, the best birds were Olive-sided Flycatcher, Swainson's Thrush, Canada Warbler, Blackpoll Warbler, Northern Parula and at least 5 Magnolia Warblers. Then I headed out to the Whimbrel watch where I was lucky that a flock of 150 Whimbrels passed by (discovered by their call) during the short time I was there.

Hi there! Whereabouts did you see the warblers? Not sure if they're in the bowl, small bowl, dogwoods these days...foliage is awfully thick...

Pretty much all the interesting songbirds were in the dogwood area (the wood patch east of the big field).
