Title: The 'Great' Encounter at Reesor Pond

Saw an interesting encounter between Great Egret and a Great Blue Heron today at Reesor Pond and it made for an interesting video.  Check it out on youtube:

Nice video and great encounter. I've had enough trouble finding one and you got both in one shot. Lucky.

That's cool egret.  I have to say that Herons, Egrets, Bitterns and other similar wading and/or shore birds are very fascinating to me.  There's something somewhat mysterious about them and it is always thrilling to see one.  

It is believed that the the ancient Phoenix in Greek mythology was inspired by the ancient Egyptian Bennu bird which itself was based on an extinct giant Grey Heron similar to today's Great Blue Heron and Great Egret.  Even the Egyptians knew there's something magical about these birds.
