I have lived in Niagara most of my life and until today never saw Sandhill Cranes here. After the torrential rains of the weekend there is a field full of water, which includes a big carp swimming about aimlessly by the way, from a nearby stream that has obviously overflowed its banks. The two Sandhills were doing their ritual dance which I have witnessed before while spending summers in the Bruce Peninsula. I stopped and watched, very cool. Anyway if you are like me and have never seen a Sandhill in Niagara then I would suggest taking a drive in the country on Sauer Rd between Ort & King Roads and take a look in the field north. Maybe they're planning on staying for a while.

I have been seeing Sandhills in the Dunnville Cayuga area for the past couple of years.
