Peregrine Falcon fledge watch began this week at Etobicoke's Sunlife building. A couple chicks are just about ready to take their first flights, one of them being little Big Frank. It was rumored he fledged on Wednesday but that turned out to be false (he was hiding behind one of his big sisters).
Mom, named O'Conner, let out an alert call from Sunlife about 3pm and took flight south. Soon we saw what she saw, an Osprey making its way north. The Osprey's journey through the area went from a leisurely flight to "get me the heck outta here!". Mom was behind him and on him over Bloor Street, over Sunlife and almost up to Dundas. It was quite the show.
There are many great stories about O'Conner from previous watches. She rocks!
